CJ's Journey cinema for students Short Essay Contest
St. Louis FiLM FESTIVAL
The CJ's Journey Foundation is hosting a short essay contest in conjunction with the St. Louis Film Festival. Students whose classroom is participating in the Cinema For Student's In-School Film Presentations program will be eligible to enter the contest for a possible cash prize and publication. All schools and students in the Greater St. Louis Area are eligible for participation in the Journey Short Essay Contest. The only requirement is educator's must show one of the available films in the classroom. Educators are invited to submit essays from classes that have screened an In-School Presentation, which are at no charge. The subject of the essay must examine a person or character from the in-school film and relate the story or events to an obstacle the student faced or overcame on their own personal journey.
How does my class enter the contest:
1) Educators - Reserve a movie to show in your classroom. Once your students view one of the available
films they become eligible for the essay contest.
2) Show the film in your classroom from November 9 - November 13.
3) Share the contest with your students - Download the essay contest rules and guidelines.
4) Choose the top three short essays from each film shown.
5) When the Cinema for Students committee picks up your film, submit the top three essays!

CJ's Journey is a registered 501(c)(3) organization helping children, teens, young adults and their families with the fight against Childhood Cancer. We work to spread awareness of this disease through community activities like the Journey Essay Contest.
